Has anyone ever made a sugar free buttercream using Splenda and how did it turn out. I have all the ingredients to make a sugar free cake but what is cake without the frosting.

AI recommend taking a look at the recipes on Splenda.com: http://recipes.splenda.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=frosting&commit=Search

I have made a SMBC using the Splenda for baking.  I don't know if you can use the lighter powdery kind and get the same results or not.

Did you use the granulated Splenda for the SMBC?

AI'm a little late here, but try getting some erythritol and powder it in a high powered blender with some cornstarch and a little stevia (Stevita is the only brand worth using in my opinion). Works just like powdered sugar (close anyway) It's a healthier more natural alternative to those nasty chemical sweeteners like splenda and aspartame and such. You can also replace sugar in baking with erythritol. This works well for my husband with type 1 diabetes. To me there is no point to giving up sugar for a chemical sweetener that may also be damaging to your health. Just my two cents:)
