I have a batch of frosting that I used for another cake and still have. I would like to use it to frost some cupcakes to send hunting with hubby. It is a pretty basic recipe: butter, shortening, confectioners sugar, flavorings and about 6T of whipping cream. What are your thoughts on shelf life with the whipping cream in there?

Should be fine for a few days. I add milk to mine and I have no problems with spoiling. I left it on my counter to see what it would do just a few weeks ago! Mine is just all butter, powdered sugar and a couple tablespoons of milk. After a week it was fine. I even bravely tasted it, and it was fine. I guess if it was really hot outside, it would be a different story. :) There is so much sugar preserving those ingredients, I think hubs will be fine in the woods with his cupcakes!
