Does anyone know how to build the structure that Sharon Wee uses in her Cookies & Milk and Pouring milk Jug cake? Would love to make something similar but Halloween inspired and the milk jug and bowl must be all cake like in the pic! Going crazy trying to figure this one! Please any help?
depending on the cake sizes/weight--you could use copper tubing or pvc pipe
that's super cool
So I would just make a hole in the center of the jug and insert the cooper/pvc pipe? In my head I only imagine it falling a part!?! Would try not to go over 500g but with the cake, ganache and fondant probably go up to 1kg
no there's a lot more to it than that--the cake stand is built first--
maybe there's some you tube videos on cake sculpting--
Thank you for you help! If anyone else can give me some tips on the jug in particular it would me much appreciated.
AWell Sharon Wee makes a good portion of her living teaching classes on how to make this. But I would think that a trip to the hardware store to investigate pipes and flanges would probably answer some questions for you.
Lauren Kitchens has a new crafty class on this technique. Just noticed it last night.
No the only way to hold this cake together without toppling over is using the cake stackers system I'm sure. Go to their facebook page to see some examples
