ANot sure, by the bud it might be a gardenia.

i agree with cupcakemaker--it is gardenia-ish

it also looks magnolia-ish too especially in the depth and the coloring--except magnolias have juju in the middle--they are not smooth like this one--

they're pretty

camellia maybe?

To me it looks like a fantasy type of flower that's not biologically correct. For this type of flowers usually five petal rose cutter is used (magnolia or peony petal cutters can also be used). The petals are cut, wired and dried on a curved surface before assembling them together. I'm not sure about the center. In this picture it looks like small flower petals are wrapped around a cone. Good luck!

That's someone's verision of the big peony but it looks like the petals are made with a rose petal cutter, then they've been curled. The center is a wired cone that had pinch marks made on the sides with a pair of tweezers of needle nose pliers. It looks like each petal is wired individually to me, but it might not be.

Costumeczar , is that '' someone" me? I didn't say it was a peony. I was talking about making fantasy flowers in general. I said " this type of flowers" and not " this flower". Maybe I didn't explain myself well.:)

No, the someone who made the flower, if that was you I didn't know that.

The center looks like the center in this picture, it isn't what a real peony looks like, it's a pinched piece of gumpaste. http://cakecentral.com/t/763811/gumpaste-peony-center
