I have a friends who's daughter will be 7 soon. She's wants to try her hand at baking a castle cake and easy ideas out there? I've never done one before. Looks like I will be teaching her at the same time.
Thanks for any help
lemme get this straight you are teaching someone else something you don't know how to do--
sounds like a plan!
consider a nordic castle pan--oh i love those pans--
or in a different configuration--use upside down ice cream cones for the tops of the towers--
look at french castle pictures for inspiration--
i saw this awesome castle cake that a friend made-- it had upside down gum paste lily like flowers for the tops of the towers--oh it was killer--like deep petunias--where the petals form a cup then curl down so when it's upside down the petals curl back up--so pretty easy and upscale--
you can use pringles cans or paper towel rolls for the bottoms of the towers
ideas for you--have a good time with this--
I actually did one and other than it taking a long time because each piece had to dry it seemed forever... it was fun.
Here is the link I used for directions :
I loved that it was all edible.
Here is how mine turned out, not up to the level of most decorators on here but not bad for a first attempt. Her instructions really did make it easier
Thank you luckylibra for the link. Your castle looks great. I'm not a professional baker however I've been doing this for over 35 years now. And love it. Wish me luck
Thank you for the ideas k8memphis. I need to make an inspiration folder. Going to look at my sister & moms vacation pics from Europe.
Thanks again I will post pic after we finish. Step 1 is this week, found out this girl doesn't know anything about baking. Should be fun
