Large, Curled Rose?

Thanks!  So really - it looks like its just a plain ol' rose, made larger by more petals and draped over the backside of a bowl?  Huh.  Seemed more difficult than that.  Any idea if I could use black Wilton(blech) fondant for this?  I've never touched the stuff but bought a random box because it was being clearanced out.  Would be great not to have to make gumpaste (black) for this cake! :)

That's just a big rose with curled petals. Take the petals and put them on a spoon, then press the edges down to curl them while the petals set up. You can use black fondant and add 1 1/2 tsp of tylose into it to make a quick gumpaste if you want it to be black.
