Got a cake coming up that I'm doing as though covered in grass with fences/hedges/etc around the sides. However, for an added touch I'd like to do an edging of 'dirt' around the bottom of the cake for a bit of added effect as I'm also going to be piping some divots of grass around the bottom.
I'm going to blend up some chocolate bourbon biscuits but I'm not sure what's going to be the best way to stick them securely to the fondant. So far I've considered edible glue and buttercream.
What would you suggest for sticking biscuit crumbs for making a nice clumpy pile of dirt at the base of a cake?
Thanks in advance :)
"paint" it on the fondant, and then sprinkle the dirt over it. Most of it should stick.
