"fizzy" Candy

AHi there, I want to make fizzy boiled hard candy, but do not want to use popping candy. I want a fruity, fizzy effect. What can I use to achieve this? For those of a certain age in the UK, I want to achieve the same kind of thing as Spangles were. Thanks!
