Hi everyone!

I received an order for a Duck Dynasty cake.

After looking at some of the gallery pictures, i'd like to do the camouflage around the sides of the cake. How do you do that?  I'd prefer not to use fondant, just buttercream.  Is that possible?

It's definitely possible, here's a great tutorial: http://cakecentral.com/t/659223/heres-a-buttercream-camo-tutorial

I did one a couple months ago, it's easy.  Just mix up different shades of buttercream, and draw splotches around the cake. Make sure the same color doesn't touch and the shapes are random, it will look fine.  Smooth with a viva towel.
