Fondant/gumpaste Flowers Sitting On Cake Overnight?

I am making and delivering cupcakes Saturday for a Sunday birthday party.  They are pretty simple: chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and each one will have a daisy (made from a fondant/gumpaste mix so they're edible but not too hard!) on it.  My question is: how can I make sure the daisies don't wilt from the moisture of the frosting?  I can't deliver on Sunday, since I am away all day.  Should I deliver them without daisies and have the client assemble right before the party?  (a bit unprofessional, but better than wilted daisies...)  I was thinking maybe a crusting butter/shortening icing, with the daisies added after the cupcake icing has "dried", might work.  


Any thoughts or BTDT advice?
