hello,

 

I've been told many times that the weather influences cakes in general, but what kind of weather affects negatively and what affects positively in regards of cake decoration? for example, in working with fondant, is it better to be in a room where is cold, warm, or in between? does cold room temperature is better? I'm confused :/

Cool and dry is best. Warm and humid is worst. Although very dry can dry out fondant while you're working with it and lead to cracking.

 

Air conditionin is best, if you have it.

Very humid can be a disastrous.  As an example the knight on the cake that went with my avatar was holding a sword up to the dragon.  When I took it to my parents, where it was humid, the very dry, hard sword suddenly got the sags within a couple of days until it was almost bent in half and then the end just dropped off.  It actually looked rather funny; this knight attacking a dragon with a bent sword, almost as if the dragon had breathed on it and melted it.
