AHi there I have made butterfly's with a mixture of fondant and gumpaste, how long do I need to leave them to dry before I can store in a container?

It depends on if you live somewhere with any humidity. Where I live they would be dry in a day, but I would leave them a few days just in case, and then store in a cardboard cake box, not plastic. You might want to layer them on kitchen paper towel to stop them shifting about and possibly breaking.
