Can anyone tell me if rolled buttercream needs to set before using or can it just be made and used immediately? Esp. for topping sugar cookies.

I use it right away.  I roll it out between 2 sheets of parchment paper, leave it on the paper, let it chill in the fridge for 10 mins., cut out the shapes, re-chill it, & then apply them to the cookie.
