After baking I leave the cake layers in my pans until cooled......well my edges keep drying out while cooling...any suggestions how to keep that from happening......

Let them cool in the pans for about 10 or 15 minutes, then cool them out of the pans on a cooling rack.  If the cake is still in a hot pan, the edges are going to continue being heated and dry out a bit.  Plus anytime I have accidentally let my cake cool in the pan, the very bottom of it has gotten a little soggy and weird.
