Has anyone done a tiered cake that the tiers only had a 1" difference between the bottom and the top?  I'm doing a 40th birthday cake for a good friend and I wanted to do a 9" round bottom and a 8" round top, each 4" high.  I'm sure it's been done, but I can't find a picture of it anywhere.  I just want to make sure it won't look silly with just an inch difference.  I believe it will work with my design like that I'm just worried the tiers will look odd.  TIA!

AIt will work. I've done them several times. Here's a pic of one that I did. The bottom tiers only have an inch difference .
