As I can no longer get a fat daddio's turntable I have been tossing up between ateco 612 or 613.
I came across a magic line turntable a mahter and a NY cake co turntable.
Has anyone had experience with these models.?
I am thinking the 613 for the smoothness and ball bearings but it hasn't got the cast bottom which I was hoping for.
I am so stuck do not know what to buy.
Please help me ( again ) !!!!
I really want to get a great one.
Is the fat daddio's one discontinued? I have the Ateco and it works fine for me, turns easily & it's sturdy enough to hold large cakes...
I have been told from a store it is no longer available, although I am waiting to hear back from another store who was about to put in a new order as they weren't aware they were out of stock until i went to buy one.
What model Ateco do you have?
My mud cakes can end up extremely weighty,
I am so unsure of what to order, so nice to see you are happy with yours.
( I see a lot of the cake shows use Ateco )
All I know is that it is currently unavailable and I am needing to buy one rather soon.
How many layers can you safely go on your turntable?
I have an old Ateco with the cast iron base and I'm quite happy with it.
I have the 612 table and my cakes are usually 2 or 3 layers and measure 4", I've had cakes as big as 18" on my stand and haven't had any problems turning, it being off level or unsturdy. By the way have you done a search online to see if you can order it?
Hi, I am retired now from doing the decorating so this may not be helpful
but I loved this turntable...smooth turning and very stable and not expensive...
I have spent weeks searching , everyone is ut of stock of Fat Daddio's.
The 612 or 613 is what im looking at now.
Thanks for showing me this.
I have added it to my list as it looks like great.
Will check it our further.
Thank you for sharing.
