Covering A Wedding Cake In Sparkling Sugar

Just wondering if anyone would know how much Sparkling Sugar/crystal sugar/sanding sugar you would you need to cover a three tier cake - 6 inch, 8 inch 12inch stacked.

i have been looking at the Wilton White Sparkling Sugar which is 226g tub.

Also what would be the best way to attach the sugar to fondant - i was just going to slightly dampen the fondant with some white alcohol and then using a tilting turntable attach to the fondant.
