AHello Everyone-

I"m working on a large gumpaste tiara for a princess cake. Seems like all the clay extruders are not long enough to make 10"12" ropes for me to mold the tiara. Any ideas or helpful hints?

Thank you in advance!

I use the green Makins extruder, and depending on the size of the die I'm using, I can get a much longer rope than 10". It doesn't have to be one solid piece, you can certainly join pieces together neatly. If you're forming it on a cake dummy, or other cylinder on top of a piece of parchment paper, it's very easy to join seams and keep it structurally sound.

When your extruder is getting close to empty, unscrew the back of it and push in some more fondant :)
