A customer just sent this photo to me and wants a similar cake for her parents' anniversary.  She wants silver sparkles, not gold, but otherwise the same.  I didn't think those sparkles are edible -- are they?  Is this something I could do so that everything is edible?  Thank you all in advance for your help!

Some metallics aren't edible but some are.  I know you can get an edible gold or silver glaze....Not sure exactly what was used on this cake though. Could have been the glaze or it could have been a gold dust mixed with vodka (etc.)   You just have to read about each of them carefully, they are usually well described in any cake supply.  :-)

Thank you, Cake Shoppe.  I've tried the Bakery Craft edible glaze in the paste with no success -- it was sludgy and didn't give good color.  I was hoping that there was something that is definitely edible and would give a good sparkly color.  Not so sure that such a product exists, from my experience.  Hmph.  I'll have to keep hunting!
