Has anyone signed up to be placed on google maps? They send a post card to your business to verify it's existence. I was surprised....I guess I didn't know you had to sign-up to be included. Any other sites I should sign up for? I did sign up for Yelp, but that doesn't show up yet (and I hope I won't regret it!).

I than signed up for google ad words, but it doesn't appear to kick in right away? It said 24 hours, but I'm still not seeing my ad and it's past 24 hr.. Today when I checked out my ad words a company in another state popped up, which didn't make any sense

I'm also wondering what phrases I should use. Anyone have suggestions or recommendations of words they are using?

I used:

Wedding Cakes (then a 25 mile radius)

AHave you signed up under Google Places? https://www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/

As for which keywords to advertise on, you may want to narrow it down a little more and include your specific competitive advantages since you will have a lot of competition with just "wedding cakes".

When I did that it sent me to ad words..........so I "think" I'm already sign up there.

Any other places or maps that I need to register with?
