A friend of mine asked me to make a cake something like this. Any suggestions on how to make the blocks? Thanks in advance....

They are just formed out of fondant, with the number on edible images it looks like.

Make a thick rope of fondant, section off as many equal portions as you will need blocks, then form with your hands.

I would just start with a ball, and using your fingers, pinch it to flatten to sides as a time. Then work your way around.

or you could make them out of 50/50 fondant /gumpaste. they could keep the name as a keep sake.
