Has anybody ever decorated a tres leches cake? Any tips? Pictures?

I have the hardest time getting the whipped icing to look good on there and trying to decorate usually ends in a mess. Is there a good recipe for the whipped icing that will work for the tres leches cake? The last one I made I just about turned my heavy cream into butter trying to make it thick enough to pipe.

Thanks in advance. :)

for piping with whipped cream you need to stabilize it, not whip it more.

I had a call for a decorated tres leches this week and i turned it down because i can't imagine regular BC sticking to it.

you can see stabilized whipped cream process here:

I think I've seen a couple that were decorated with regular BC, but I imagine that it would be really really sweet since the cake is sweet on it's own.

I tried a recipe that was supposed to stabalize my whipped cream, but it just ended up gritty and weird. I'll give this one a try. Thank you!
