Yes I know that prices will vary depending on location, and so many other factors...but I charged $65 for this cake today and don't feel like it was enough based on how long it took me to make it (7-8 hours). I now have another request for this cake, and am thinking I would like to charge around $80 or $85.

It's an 11" X 15" single layer cake, with buttercream frosting, a carved out pool filled with buttercream & topped with piping gel, half gumpaste/half fondant decorations.

Thoughts??

ACheck out the Pricing Formula link in my signature below.

If the ingredient cost for that cake was $15 and you have another $15 in allocated overhead, at a price of $85 you would earn about $7/hour with zero profit.

Sixty for the cake. Sixty for the fondant figurine work.
