What are your top three favourite American Pies?

I own a cupcake café and would like to expand our product range on offer. I think American style pies would do quite well, especially as we now have the European US Army Headquaters in town.

But I need help in deciding which pies we should offer. I am thinking of having 3, max. 4 different varities in our showcase.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Absolute top is definitely apple. That one I eat year round. It is always a crowd pleaser. Around October and November, pumpkin and sweet potato. In the summer coconut and strawberry. Have you ever put pie inside a cupcake? I did it once with pumpkin pie. Mmmmm.

My favorites are coconut (chess style), key lime, and chocolatetown (chocolate chip). My top SELLING pie would be apple. Almost always sell out, which is nice, it's just not my personal favorite.

Key Lime!! How could I forget that living here in FL? Never heard of chocolatetown though. Sounds interesting.

I hate apple pie, lol, I'm so weird.

My favourites are blackberry, rhubarb and lemon meringue.

Oh gosh yes, how could I forget lemon meringue? I'll put that as my number 3 instead of the combos. Or as number 3a. I probably forgot because the only lemon meringue pie that I ever liked was my mother's and she's been gone for several years now.

And the only apple pie I like is made by my niece or my sister (who taught her daughter), who learned from our mother, who learned from her mother. I am so blessed being in a baking family.

AApple is always good. Cherry, strawberry rhubarb, lemon sour cream, coconut cream, any berry... I will eat pie once in a while but don't really like it. I have a wonderful lemon sour cream recip that came from my great great aunt.

Actually, I would tell you to rotate the flavors.  I would serve a two crust fruit pie, a one crust pie- chess, custard (including pumpkin), fresh fruit or  a fruit streusel- and finally a meringue- the cream ~ vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate, coconut, banana, peanut butter ~ or lemon pie. The list of possibles is really endless.

So do I :-)

Thanks for the great input so far.

I wouldn't have had blueberry on the list, but that's definitely food for thought ;-)

Pumkin Pie would be high on the list as well but I'm afraid the Germans would be slightly bewildered, pumpinks are mainly used for savoury dishes over here.

Key Lime or Lemon Meringue will definitely make it though!
