So I did a car cake. It was 4 layers, with ganache and chocolate chunks between the layers. I frosted and covered it with fondant, then left it for a couple hours, only to come back and find that it had settled. My daughter looked at it and asked 'You did this in a hurry?' It just looked...sad and tired. Ive never had a cake settle on me before. And I'd taken my time because it's for tomorrow but I just wanted it out of the way. I decided that it had to be re-done. And I just scraped off the writing and re-draped a new piece of fondant. Perfect! I was truly amazed! Has anyone else done this?

AI have! In my case I had rolled the fondant too thin on my second ever fondant iced cake. It all tore when I put it on the cake and well I just stood in the kitchen and had a little cry. Then I came straight onto CC found out what to do, pulled that fondant off, buttercream base and all, re-kneaded it, re-rolled it and put it back on the cake...perfect. Then I did a little dance
