I have a cake order that is due in two weeks, that is for two one layer 14" cakes decorated with rosettes.  The mother of the twins would like to have a "bow tie" type bow on top of each cake.  I have never made one of these and my attempts have been futile.  What size bow should I put on these cakes?  And if I can't get this mastered in the next two weeks...  Does anyone know where I can buy them?  This bow is kicking my arse.

TIA!!!!

Use 50/50 gumpaste and fondant, it will make it more sturdy and not as floppy as I'm assuming your having trouble with.  When you set the bows to dry, roll up some paper towel to hold the form of the bow loops to keep them looking full.  I hope that helps a little :)

Thank you...  I have tried mixing the two...  but not quite half and half.  I will try again.  I am having issues with floppiness and getting the folds to look right.  I appreciate your help!!

Thank you!
