I have a really difficult time writing on cookies with my royal icing.  I see so many pictures of crisp letters on cookies and I simply cannot achieve this.  Anyone have any tips for me?  I am using the wilton royal icing recipe.  Thanks for any help!

Hello jdelectables, whenever I write on cookies I always use piping consistency. I use the wilton royal icing recipe as well but I always thin it down. I found this video helpful to me when I began cookie decorating. Hopefully, it'll help you as well. icon_smile.gif

Icing consistency is very important but so is good old fashioned practice, I see you use rolled buttercream on your cookies maybe these videos could help you:
