AJust wondering if brushing a simple sugar syrup on cupcakes (before buttercream) would keep them fresher for longer?

It keeps it nice and moist. I spray it instead of brushing though

Simple syrup is equal parts water and granulated sugar, brought to a boil to dissolve the sugar, then cooled. You can flavor it with extracts if you like (or even a little liqueur).

AOh ok!! Lol thank you sooo much for everyone's help, I'll have to try that. I like the idea of spraying it on that way you have more control over it. I would imagine anyway. Thank you everyone for your help.
