Hello--

I have been on a cake hiatus for almost 2 years now since getting a new full time job. However, I'm getting that entrepreneurial itch and want to start my own business again. Do you all still think cake decorating and owning a cakery is a viable business idea? Does it have big money-making potential? Why or why not? Please share your thoughts!

Thanks in advance,

It depends. Putting together a business plan specific to your idea and local market will give you an idea of whether or not it will be viable.

I agree with Jason! icon_biggrin.gif Put together a business plan and you can see what the outcome will be. I'm in the process of researching my business right now. I think the secret is offering something that no one else has around you.

AIn theory, yes. It's kind of like baking a cake. You have to have all the right ingredients & timing. Otherwise, your cake won't rise!
