So in march i made my brother a full sized electric ibanez guitar that he was able to pick up and play.
I now need to try match that or go a little further as its my sisters 30th in two weeks.i did have her cake all planned out ... shes a big chocolate lover and that was the theme, however since i planned her cake she's fallen pregnant and has gone off chocolate LOL
Ive been so busy the last few months ive just hit a brick wall and cant get the creative cogs turning.
All crazy ideas welcome
She is a nurse
Loves to travel
Loves kids
Tgi's is her fave place to go for a meal
Any suggestions will be appreciated
What's her favorite thing about TGIs? I love their Jack Daniels Burgers, I almost had my own table at the one by my old house.
Maybe you could do something with their pins and places she likes to travel to. Maybe find some real ones online?

She loves everything as long as she has jack daniels bbq sauce lol
Thats a pretty cool idea :)
Perhaps an all in one cake? That would be pretty interesting...You could make a cake with her in a nurse's outfit, with suitcases around her and her eating a Jack Daniel's burger with some kids...hmm...ambitious...and a guitar? Do you have a pic?

That sure is ambitious but exactly the kind of idea's im looking for... :-)
Ill try add a couple pics of the guitar cake :-)
there is a video on you tube too of my brother holding and strumming it lol
That is so awesome! How did it hold up with him holding it? Did you make it out out rice krispys?
It held up pretty well i was happy how it turned out.My brother actually sent a few pic's of it to ibanez and they featured it on their facebook page in march.
The main body of it was all cake i didnt use any rice krispy for this one.it was tricky to keep the real strings, mechanism's etc seperate from the edible parts of the cake lol
It was about 7hrs from start to finish... but it was my first time making a guitar cake playable so i had taken a bit longer than expected :-)
Making desserts look like savory dishes is awesome. Top Chef Just Desserts did one. Someone made it look like beef wellington. Amazing! You could make a cake with a bunch of different things off their menu. Or pick one and make the whole plate with sides, etc.

Awesome.... the cogs are starting to turn now lol i think ill take the TGI'S suggestions and run with it :-)
Wow! Great job. It looks amazing. I love how the cheese is oozing off the side of the burger!
What a fun, cool cake! I love the lettuce borders and the fries that look like they were flung every where (though I know they were meticulously placed). Awesome work!
