Hi....My customer wants a Black forest cake to be carved into a car. Is it possible to use whipped cream filling in carved cakes?....what about stabilized whipped cream or the sturdy whipped cream recipe from allrecipes?....do you think it will hold well when carved?...or should I just go with buttercream?....is there a recipe for buttercream that is not too sweet?...any help is appreciated.....thanks a lot.

Buttercream or ganache.  Another suggestion...marscapone cheese mixed with powdered sugar (it's ahhhhmazing).  I wouldn't attempt whipped cream in a carved cake only because it's so soft.

Norasmom is right, your layers may slip or at best the whip cream base filling will melt under your fondant.

The general rule for carved cakes is no filling, just buttercream to glue the layers together.

ALayer cake always has a filling. If bc is between the layers, the filling is bc.
