I would like to replicate the quilting pattern on this cake below. I have found oval quilting markers to make the oval imprints, but not sure how to make the little "x" at the intersections. Is there some sort of tool that I can use? What would it be called? Thanks!

I would probably use the end of my small round pallet knife to lightly impress each line in the "x" while the fondant is still soft.

Would something like this work to make a light impression that you could then use a fondant tool to make the grooves as deep as you like?

Oh dear. It's 4 inches long! Sorry.
