Hey guys, this cake is actually going to be done tomorrow-- I figured I knew how to do it, but now that it's tomorrow I am getting nervous.  How would you guys get this effect?  My thought is a 10" cake carved from the top to almost all the way down and then a 6" right on top.  Would u guys do it this way, or would u do more of a topsy turvey method?

I'd do the carve method. Just mark the center of the cake with the board for the top and shave away from that. Other wise you will cut into your middle and it will look weird. If that makes sense.
