AHi, I have ordered some cake dowels but both ends are rounded. Obviously the top will be levelled off for the cake board to sit on but do I need to do this for the bottom half or can this stay rounded?

I'd level off both ends of the dowels so they sit flat on the board. I've never seen rounded ones, that sounds like a bad idea.

Where in the devil did you get those from?  Those are NOT cake dowels.  I agree w/the others, cut both ends level.

AThought I would update you guys.....went to my local cake shop ( very popular and well established, been there since before I was born) and they were using these exact cake dowels. She even took me to the back and showed me and.... Thy dont level off the rounded ends!!! Never had a problem !!
