sorry for the stupid question but I'm making simple syrup to put on cake layers for the first time. Sugar dissolved, recipe said let it cool at room temperature. shouldn't it be syrupy? its basically the consistency of water right now.

recipe had me use 1/2 cup sugar, 3/4 cup water.

ANope. It's fine :) you can put it in a spray bottle and spray it on our dip a brush in it and brush it on.

I won't be using it until tomorrow. Should I put it in the fridge? when do I add vanilla extract? and thanks
