I have seen several buttercream recipes that call for sweet cream butter.  Is there a difference in taste and/or texture if you use this verses regular butter?

Sweet Cream butter is regular butter.  Only difference in butter's is it can come salted or unsalted. HTH icon_smile.gif

Sweet cream butter is usually the unsalted butter

Assuming you are in North America, sweet cream is just regular butter.

Some parts of the world, mainly Europe (I Think, lol), use cultured butter. That does have a slight taste difference, but no textural difference that you would need to worry about.
