AHi, I'm new to this site and was after some advice on freezing and carving! I'm making a gruffalo cake for a three yr old and after reading some threads on here am unsure on a few things! 1) can I just use a chocolate sponge cake receipe to carve?!! 2) how long do I freeze for before I can carve it?! 3) how long do I need to leave the crumb coating to set before applying the buttercream top?!?! Thanks in advance, all info greatly received!!! This is the first character cake I've made I'm a bit nervous!! Ali.
