Hi All,

So I need to make a 4 Tier Tiffany Themed Wedding Cake and I have got two colours choices:

Renshaw Jade Green or Renshaw Duck Egg Blue

What's your views out there as I am leaning towards the darker as it will stand out more but the lighter blue is a closer match...

Does fondant get darker or lighter as you knead it?

Any help appreciated - my first wedding cake order so want to get it spot on! :-)

ACould you mix a bit of the darker colour into the lighter colour to get a closer match?

That was an option but as i am dealing with 4 tiers i was concious that i may not be able to replicate the colour in each tier - im mean it will look awful even if they are a shade different...

Even if you don't mix colors it's still hard to replicate the exact shade if you need more than you originally mixed. Color all of the fondant that you're going to need at the same time to ensure all tiers are the same shade

To get all your fondant the same shade, just make a note of the weight of each colour used as you go. So for example, if you start with 500g of the lighter colour, and add 250g of the darker in total to get the colour you want, to do more fondant the same shade just repeat or multiply what you used originally. This way you don't have to knead all the fondant at once, and each tier will be the same shade.

AThanks Dayti. I guess that's an option - will play around with colours this week and hope I get something that resembles the colour.
