AFor Mother's Day I want to make an ombré rose cake as the design but I want the flavor or cake to be a strawberry shortcake layer cake. I want to know if I can use the cream from the strawberry recipe to make the roses or if I should make a vanilla buttercream for the outside. Here is a link to the recipe, thanks in advance!
It might be too soft to make roses since it is just whipped heavy cream. Whenever I make it, it isn't stiff enough to make flowers.
ASo just make a vanilla buttercream instead?
