did you know that you can buy half moon pans in the larger sizes? you might feel more comfortable with that.
but the key to working with large cakes IMO, is having large rounds for turning and a rack big enough to cool on. Otherwise, just be confident, grease and use parchment in your pan and move quickly when turning it.
Tall or wide? What shape? Will it fit in your oven? Do you have a pan or want to piece it together?
