Hello I made homemade fondant last week the european recipe found in the site icon_biggrin.gif . I wrap it in plastic wrap and put in a container in the cupboard. We I tried to use it it was hard. icon_sad.gif I then place it in the micro for short periods of time until it was pliable. On my work surface I put crisco the same with my hands but it started to dry really fast at the end when I covered he cake the fondant start to crack. icon_mad.gificon_mad.gif I could smooth it on the cake. icon_cry.gif

I think that my problem was during storage what I did wrong? What I missed. I think I will have the same with my gum paste. Can I salvage and use it? Or throw away?

PLEASE HELP icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

put a little less sugar than it's written in original recipe. when you stir gelatin,it must not boile, because fondant will crack!
for gumpaste: the sugar with tragahant must be hot when you put other ingredients, so it could be gummy.
