I'm doing a cake for my niece's elementary graduation next month and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get the writing on the black fondant that will be the chalk board.  Do they even make a white food writer pen?

AYou can use royal icing painted on with a brush but if you really want it to look line chalk use white petal dust mixed with a little vodka or clear vanilla extract!

AHungry Happenings is a fantastic blog that recently posted about making edible chalk boards and included making your own chalk to write on it. Looks very real and I bet it would work on black fondant too!

Thanks for the ideas guys.  Never thought to use royal icing and the "chocolate chalk" idea is wonderful.  I'm trying to make this cake as perfect as I can get it I want it to be special for my niece.
