I have a cake to make for next month.  I am firstly looking at all the things I need to consider before I plan to make it.

Because I am travelling with the cake along lanes, a motorway and track I obviously need to transport it in single tiers.

One of the things I need to consider is handling a chocolate collar type cake and placing it in position without it cracking or melting in my fingers! I dont want pieces cracking off and holes where my hot shaky fingers have been.

How do I do this?  The cake card will be hidden on the top tiers so manouvering it may be a piece of work.

With chocolate how do I patch up? not as if I can carry a tub of warm chocolate.

With transporting again how do you do it?  I dont want sides touching anything.

How much time should I consider?  I am also attending the wedding so I want to be able to sleep and be calm. What if the venue is warm? or even we could have a hot weekend?

I am considering opting for an easier option (cigarellos etc) if its going to be a nightmare.
