I have a cake in 2 weeks that this lady wants covered in fondant, but on one of the layers it has like "c" shaped designs and clearly they are in buttercream bc the original cake is in buttercream.  now i have to figure out how to make that design on fondant....please help!! would royal icing do the trick?

Hi,  I have used buttercream on fondant before with no issues but if you can, then I would suggest to rather go with royal icing.

I wouldn't use buttercream ON the fondant, i have done this before and it made the fondant soggy, plus butter doesn't hold up to well in heat/humidity so if its warm were you are you'll have soggy buttercream too. Royal icing is most deffinatly the way to go  icon_biggrin.gif Good luck let us know how you went
