Hey, I'm new to the forums and I apologize if this has been asked before but I have a paint splatter cake I'm doing and the lady asked me if I could make the fondant or "paint" being buttercream glow. I've heard you can add tonic water but I would hate for it to taste like it. Has anyone ever done this before and if so, did it work and did it taste like tonic water? Thanks

I believe that quinine (in tonic water) glows under black light (fluoresces), but doesn't glow in the dark.  I did however see some kind of food product at Michael's a few weeks ago that claimed to glow in the dark.  Can't remember if it was icing, sprinkles or candy melts, though.
