AOops, hit send too soon. It says "ask for money transfer. I already paid, via PayPal. I have had it for 10 years and have never had to do anything of the sort.

AWhere's the seller located? Money transfer is very common outside the aid.

Did the transaction go through on Paypal?  It just seems to me that if Paypal is offered and you used it that you shouldn't be getting a request for a money transfer.  I've been using Paypal for years and have never seen this type of request.  I'm very interested in the outcome.

I have had to accept a payment from someone in Paypal (go in and physically push the button that says "accept"), but have not had to when paying someone.  Maybe they need to go accept the payment in their Paypal.

I also just noticed, you have an order number.  You generally don't get one unless payment has been received.

AJust reply and tell them you paid via PayPal, and see what happens. And do it through Etsy so you have official records.

Anna -

PARK ZU BUM is here http://www.etsy.com/people/parkzubum/favorites?ref=ls_faves

Seoul , south Korea

and is this the etsy shop you bought the items from?  http://www.etsy.com/shop/PAFMOLDS

So from what I can gather - you have gone on line to buy some or one Paf Mold

You have paid in American Dollars...but because the items are coming from Seoul in South Korea - they wont accept American dollars so it needs to be converted to their currency before the order is accepted....that is why you have an order number

Perhaps I have said to much on a public forum - IYKWIM..

Most odd that it states they are being shipped from America - yet everything about the molds and the location is Korea.... and that is where your dollars end up....

Best words of advice...beeeee careful.

Just because it states food grade - doesn't mean it is - again, IYKWIM

AIt looks like this seller has sold quite a few items. Contact them and ask! Also, I checked the list of buyers. Maybe message one or more of them to see if they experienced the same issue. They have 100 percent feedback rating so that's good news.

AYou can pay in USD to someone anywhere in the world, they receive it converted at whatever the rate is for the day that Paypal is giving. It's not about the currency.

I would be careful if I bought lace " mold " .  But if you end up paying with some sorth of other money transfer, make sure you get the paypal one canceled first so you don't end up paying twice or being scammed.

Annabakescakes Posted 17 Apr 2013 , 8:39pm

Thank you for the replies, I have been baking all day, and just now sat down to check my messages again.

Yeah, it says USA, or I would not have ordered! I am baffled. I haven't sent any messages back yet, I may cancel the order, but if I have to do anything else with my payment, I refuse. I didn't know I was buying from South Korea. I need to keep an eye out, and check to see if there is a stop payment.

No, some countries don't deal with PayPal directly per sae - so it needs to go through a secondary payment system.... thus why Anna would have had to ok the message she got - so as this could be done... (and again I say - that's why she got the order number)..... and IF you do not know anything about that secondary system and you do not know how secure it is - s**t can happen....

Sure, they can take your money - but you might never get your goods - and once it leaves pay pals hands....pffft, you have no come back....

I would rather be safe than sorry - because as we all know - or should know,  s**t does happen and not always to other people.

Contact  Pay Pal or the seller first.

I ordered something from ebay for about 500.00 a year or so ago and got the same type of  message. (the seller was highly rated and in my same state).   It asked me to wire transfer funds to England because the seller was on vacation.  I had agreed to use PayPal and was annoyed, baffled and alarmed.  I immediately called pay pal and the transaction was already completed.  They contacted the seller, and gave me the shipping number.  I contacted Ebay, and they launched an investigation.   It was a fraudulent email  by someone getting into the system and fishing for folks to send money and/or get your credit card number.  They showed me how to identify legitimate messages from e-bay vs scam messages, and it hasn't happened since.  I would be very suspicious.  Contact Pay pal.  They can tell you if the seller has been paid.   Pay Pal was extremely helpful to me.

ADon't ever pay outside PayPal,it is not safe and seems like there is something amiss. If you pay with PayPal atleast if something happens they can refund you.
