Dark Cake With Light Chocolate Cake Pops Issue

Hello!  I'm having an issue I can't find the answer for and hope you can help me!  I made some lego heads and two tiered wedding cakes cake pops out of chocolate dough today and dipped the legos in yellow melts and the cakes in white Merckens melts.

The issue I'm having is that the chocolate cake is showing through the light colored chocolate, kind of like a shadow.  The pop is totally covered, but you can tell that the cake is chocolate underneath.

So I tried double dipping them and the chocolate was so thick, heavy, and overpowering even though the chocolate I dipped it in was still very smooth and liquidy.

Is there an answer to this issue?  I don't want to never be able to dip a dark colored cake in a light colored chocolate.  Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks!             Maria
