I'm making a baby shower cake, not my first cake i've made a few others but never worked with gum-tex. Could i add gum-tex to buttercream fondant and would it work the same way as just regular fondant. and also would i make my decorations out of gumpaste or fondant w/Gum-tex.?

Gumtex will make the fondant dry more than just fondant alone (not has much as gumpaste) but my experience is it makes my bows crack easier.   Not sure what anyone else thinks, but its almost better to do 50/50 gumpaste fondant..(Just my opinion icon_biggrin.gif)  unless you are working with a premade fondant color and you don't want the color comprised... in that case add the gumtex.

For decorations,   Flowers definately gumpaste

                          bows, 50/50

                          regular decorations, fondant

Figures, heads, torso (gumpaste) clothes hair etc. 50/50
