So I was asked to make these either out of cake or to put on top of a cake. How would I go about that? Would fondant be better or gumpaste? Also how much would I charge for the shoes alone? I have never made shoes before and could use some help. Thanks!!

how big? which way all cake or on top of a cake?

for the shine you could use gum arabic + water and brush it on for that exact shine

it's just a white powder--you can get it from a cake supply place for a few bucks

or you can dissolve some white edible glitter that you can find at hobby lobby type stores and paint that on--the edible glitter is gum arabic

They want a cake to feed 10. I am not sure if it would be easier to do an 8 in with probably one shoe on the top or do one made ou of cake. Stumped since I have never made shoes before either out of gumpaste or fondant.

an 8" cake is over twice as much as you need

a 6" is big enough

i'd just make them out of gum paste or fondant + cornstarch & put them on top
