Amy very first time writing so... hey everyone! needed some help and i know this is the place to ask! anyone know the name of the mold on this cake. i need the top and bottom tiers. and where i can purchase it? thanks in advance!
I don't, but check out CalJava. They are the best place (in my opinion) for those type of ornate molds.
thanks ddaigle.. but no luck there. anyone else?
Looks like this mold for the fleur de lis, but they must have cut it at an angle. Towards the bottom on the right.
As far as the top tier goes, it could be two pieces put together, can't really see the design that well, but you might look for an elegant design, and then incorporate the teardrops into it.
Just a thought.
ATry makeyourownmolds.com. They are awesome molds and very ornate. If not exact, they have some very close to that.
The one on the bottom is acanthus leaves. You might want to try to find decorative moldings or ornamental moldings in wood and make your molds from that.
You could also try dollhouse building supplies for small ones.
Could you use this:
You could mold, then cut it in two pieces to place them around the bottom of the cake.
Could you use this for the top tier?
For the ones that look solid, you could cut out some of the interior spaces with piping tips.
thank you everyone!! i'm going to look through all the links and ideas provided. you guys rock!
